The wind damage in McLeans Island Forest Park late last year was saddening to many members of the Abley team, being regular users of the park’s mountain biking tracks. The recent 12-hour day/nighter and 6 hour blast race event is an annual fixture in our calendar. When a park ranger from ECan approached us recently for engineering advice on the design of a safe road crossing for a temporary walking and cycle track, we were more than happy for Peter Cockrem to donate some time to help get the park up and running again for summer!

NZPI supports programmes that foster links with fields of study allied to planning, so long as the core of planning knowledge and skills is maintained in a coherent fashion.
