Well done to Abley Transportation Engineers Bridget Southey-Jensen and Shane Ingley, who have had their abstracts accepted to present at the 2016 Trafinz Conference. The theme for this year’s conference is Communities, Growth & Transportation and will focus on how New Zealand communities can successfully manage the impacts of growth into the future, whilst delivering a safe and efficient transport system.
Bridget will present on cycle safety at intersections, outlining where crashes involving cyclists are occurring, the types of intersections which are higher risk for crashes, and recommendations for designing safer intersections for cyclists, as discussed at the 2Walk and Cycle Conference 2016.
Shane will reflect on cycle and bus network integration, based on his recent work with Auckland Transport to measure existing bus lanes in central Auckland, analyze road space allocation and identify alternative cycle routes.
