Abley recently provided advice to the Selwyn District Council that resulted in NZ Transport Agency funding for a new cycle path between Rolleston and Lincoln.
Abley’s main involvement was in calculating a benefit cost ratio for the proposal and identifying the types of users likely to use the path. The cycle path will be 9km long and is anticipated to provide for a range of user types including school children and people accessing the facilities offered in the key growth hub of Rolleston. The cycleway will be funded out of both the National Land Transport Fund ($275,000) and the Urban Cycleways Fund ($300,000) with the local share making up the remainder of the anticipated $850,000 cost.
