Started in 1996 the company has provided consulting engineering services for over a decade.

In 1999 Steve Abley departed New Zealand for the United Kingdom and on his return in 2003 the company traded as Steve Abley - Transportation Engineering. The addition of more staff prompted a name change to Abley Transportation Engineers Limited in October 2007.  Over time the company has expanded the range of transportation services offered to clients to include some non-engineering  services.  Our core services remain engineering based although the company also employs a range of skilled  consultants in other fields including GIS and design; consequently the name of the company is now Abley Transportation Consultants Limited.

The company now employs nine full time and a number of part time staff.  Our firm is located in Christchurch New Zealand, the gateway to the South Island of New Zealand, and our reputation is based on exceptionally high quality deliverables and high level thinking.
