What made you decide to become an Associate Director?
I’ve always been a problem solver and the opportunity to grow a New Zealand business with real expertise was too good to miss.
What did you do before joining Abley?
I started my career where Transportation Planning and Engineering in the UK. More recently I moved to Auckland and in that time have lead transportation teams of up to 60 staff for multinational consultants.
What does a typical day in the office include?
Every aspect of business. Talking to clients and staff to ensure each are happy and that quality work is delivered on time. Filling the technical gaps or supporting the team through peaks in works load. I also drink a lot of coffee!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Being innovative. I know it’s an overused term, but I love seeing the team take a different approach to solving a problem. It’s what engineering is all about for me.
What’s the most challenging thing about your job?
Finding time to do everything. Even with an awesome team behind me, everyone’s always so busy.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Walking the dog, cycling with the family and watching sci-fi with a nice glass of vino.
