A recent SNC event involved a group of about 20 of us heading over to the Asian Garden Cooking School in Harewood, for a demonstration of Thai/ Vietnamese cooking. We started the evening with a lesson on the various exotic Asian herbs used to flavor the cooking. So many of these herbs were highly fragrant and had intense flavor. After that we moved inside for a lesson on how to make Oyster dipping sauce, beef cheek Penang curry and Vietnamese rice paper rolls. I now know why I could never get my Thai curries at home to taste the way they are meant to! We got a chance to have a go and the flavours were sublime. After the practical demo we sat down to a variety of courses served up with some delicious wine. Well worth the time and money – thank you SNC for a superb event!
