Abley’s Auckland team had their own Master chef cooking class for their midwinter Christmas do.
The team went to Sachie’s Kitchen where they were split into two teams called the Blue Steel (Colin, Penny, Jason, Kay) and the Ruby Red Rappers (Ruby, James, Courtney, Sacha). They received demonstrations of three Japanese dishes from Sachie’ expert chefs. After the demonstration each team hit their cooking stations for a forty-five minute cooking challenge. They cooked okonomiyaki (Japanese street pancake), beef tataki salad and deep fried lotus root. The Ruby Red Rappers were taking the lead at first but the final tasting competition gave Blue Steel the overall winning score. A great night was had by all.
