We are proud to announce that Bridget Spence, a University of Otago Master student studying public transport networks will be joining our team in early 2015. Bridget's addition to the Abley team expands our public transport expertise.
It was announced today that Abley had been selected as a finalist in the Cycle Fridley Awards being held in Nelson at the 2 WalkandCycle Conference. The award recognises the commitment of a business supporting cycling and specifically relates to our design work at McLeans Island Forest Park.

Associate Local Government Minister Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga today announced the appointment of our Steve Abley as a Development Contributions Commissioner. The appointment is for three years and Mr Lotu-Iiga said “I am pleased with the calibre of people who put their names forward for the register. I am confident that the appointed commissioners possess the relevant knowledge, skills and expertise to serve on the panel.” Congratulations Steve.
Abley Transportation Consultants is very proud to announce the impending arrival of two engineering graduates for our Christchurch office. Both Bridget Southey-Jensen and Carl O’Neil will be 2015 graduates of the University of Canterbury. We are looking forward to their arrival to help us with a strong workload and an expanding list of clients and projects throughout New Zealand and Australia.
Our Managing Director, Steve Abley, presented to University of Canterbury Professional Engineering Development undergraduate students today. The presentation was on the role of the consulting engineer within society and the role a graduates play when entering the work force with various organisations, with a specific focus on consulting engineering. The presentation was particularly 'lively' with one of the students, Jack, doing a great job pantomiming the role of a recent graduate.
In keeping with our culture and with a keen eye on the future, Abley has recently purchased a new fuel efficient car for the team in our Auckland office.
Foodstuffs South Island Limited have successfully gained resource consent to open a new Pak n Save in Rangiora town centre. Abley Transportation Consultants provided transport advice that contributed to the successful application for consent.
