The industry leading work produced by Abley has been recognised at the IPENZ Transportation Group Conference in Christchurch.
Abley’s Steve Abley, Dave Smith and Stacy Rendall have developed the Australasian Pedestrian Facility Selection Tool for Austroads. The tool has been designed to help Australian and New Zealand practitioners select the most appropriate type of pedestrian crossing based on walkability, safety and economic outcomes.
We are delighted to announce that Abley’s Steve Abley has been awarded the IPENZ MacLean Citation for distinguished service in the advancement of engineering practice and leadership in the profession. Steve’s service to IPENZ includes being Chairman of the Canterbury branch, an IPENZ Governing Board Member, served on the Competency Assessment Board, Engineering Practice Board, and the Engineering Practice Advisory Committee. More recently Steve has chaired the Institution’s Code of Ethics Review Working Group. Steve has shown dedication and diplomacy with his dealings on behalf of IPENZ and this citation acknowledges this achievement. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement.
Abley recently provided advice to the Selwyn District Council that resulted in NZ Transport Agency funding for a new cycle path between Rolleston and Lincoln.
