Abley have invested in two new bikes for staff to use for commuting to meetings in the CBD. It has reduced travelling times by not being caught up in the ongoing road works that are part of every day life in Christchurch these days and eliminated parking issues.
Abley is proud to announce that Tracy Fleming (nee Allatt) is joining the Abley team later this month as a Senior Transportation Engineer. Tracy is well known throughout NZ and she has a reputation for work in the active transport, travel demand management and research areas. Tracy starts work on the 27 January and can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org
The wind damage in McLeans Island Forest Park late last year was saddening to many members of the Abley team, being regular users of the park’s mountain biking tracks. The recent 12-hour day/nighter and 6 hour blast race event is an annual fixture in our calendar. When a park ranger from ECan approached us recently for engineering advice on the design of a safe road crossing for a temporary walking and cycle track, we were more than happy for Peter Cockrem to donate some time to help get the park up and running again for summer!
