Abley staff embrace National Go by Bike Day

Posted on: February 10, 2016 at 2:14 PM     Tags:

Today is National go by bike day and Abley staff rose to the challenge and travelled by bike to work.  Not that riding your bike to work is anything unusal for Abley staff, with over half the staff being regular commuters by bike.  Today however, that number rose to just under 80% of staff from our two offices. There were five breakfast snack stations around Christchurch so staff were able to grab a bite and pick up some cycle accessories along the way. Courtney and Shruti at our Auckland office made a detour on their way to work to grab a bite via the new Nelson Street Cycleway, Te Ara I Whiti – the lightpath for cyclists and pedestrians.

Endurance Pays off for Abley Team

A team of six runners ventured south in the weekend to compete in the inaugural Queenstown International Marathon. It was a spectacular course that started in Arrowtown (for the marathon runners), near the Shotover River (for the half-marathon runners) and Frankton for the 10km runners.  Unfortunately the weather gods were not smiling down on Queenstown on Saturday, but this did not detract from the course, though it did mean a rather soggy finish for all.  Ann-Marie Head completed her first marathon, Ruby Kim her first half marathon and Aimee Dunne her first 10km run.  Other runners included Paul Durdin, Jared White and Nichola Blue who all completed the half marathon. It was a great effort by all and I’m sure one to be repeated next year!
