The Auckland Mid-winter dinner was held at Mekong Baby restaurant on Saturday 22nd June. With 24 people attending, it was the biggest turnout ever for this event for our Auckland office.
With last year’s event held at Waiheke island, there was a lot of expectation to live up to. Mekong Baby is a bustling restaurant in the heart of Ponsonby Road known for its amazing South-East Asian fusion food. We booked the Mekong room which was a shared room separate from the main restaurant. The service was great and as it was a set banquet menu, there were many delicious dishes being brought to the table one after the other. Everyone found the food appetizing and more than enough by the end of the meal course.
As 22nd June was Winter Solstice, we decided to celebrate with a dress code of Winter/Frozen. Many people dressed up in white and there were others in line with the Game of thrones theme with dragons and a polar bear making an appearance.
The overall ambience was fantastic. It was fun night with loads of mingling and chatter. A big thanks to Abley and to the social club team for arranging a remarkable night.
