Kaushi is our Senior Developer with strong problem solving and analytical skills. She completed Graduate Diploma in IT in Auckland and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She has been involved in the development of several content management websites which include the New Zealand Cricket website. She has also worked on integrating desktop applications with external interfaces. Her technical and functional skills help her focus on developing quality applications.
What made you decide to become a geospatial professional?
I’m passionate about developing .net applications, which is key to my role here at Abley. This was an opportunity that I didn’t want to miss.
What did you do before joining Abley?
I had a been developing desktop and web applications using ASP .net & MS SQL.
What does a typical day in the office include?
Meeting clients to gathering requirements, help them understand functionalities and decide on what needs to be developed. Developing software workflows, plenty of coding, geospatial development (GIS), and helping each other in the team.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Creating meaningful, user friendly applications by understanding the data behind the applications we develop.
What’s the most challenging thing about your job?
Becoming proficient in geospatial software. I'm thrilled to be involved in this exciting industry.
What’s been your career highlight so far?
I started my Graduate Diploma in IT without even an email address for myself. Today I’m a successful .net & GIS developer who is currently leading really cool projects at Abley. All this in such short time is the biggest highlight in my career.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
My spare time is always booked for my family. We tour across South Island to make most out of it as a family. I’m also the cultural coordinator at Canterbury Tamil Society where I choreograph dance performances for both kids and adults.
