What made you decide to become a Geospatial Professional?

I was introduced to GIS during my undergraduate studies at University. Over the 2017-18 summer break I worked as a GIS Intern at the Department of Conservation. Seeing how GIS can be applied in the real-world helped me to decide on a career in GIS.

Before joining Abley I studied a Postgraduate Diploma in GIS at Canterbury University. I also completed two Geospatial Internships at the Department of Conservation and the Christchurch City Council.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Everyday is different. I enjoy the dynamic and fast-paced environment that GIS offers, and being able to find new and creative solutions to solve problems.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Fishing, tramping, and exploring the great outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
