What Tessa has to say:

What made you decide to become an administrator?

I like that administration combines organisational and time management skills to support others, and I wanted an opportunity to learn and develop new skills.

What did you do before joining Abley?

Before joining Abley I was a student at the University of Canterbury where I studied a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Human Services and Education.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I like that the role is busy and varied, and I am enjoying being taught new things every day. I am also enjoying the friendly and supportive team environment.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

Staying on top of, and prioritising, multiple tasks.

What has been your career highlight so far?

Completing my degree was a major highlight, as well the Community Support Work that I undertook during my final year of study. This was an immensely rewarding and enjoyable role!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love playing hockey and in the winter this takes up most of my free time! The speed, skill and competitiveness of the game makes hockey an exciting and challenging sport! I also love going out for coffee, catching up with friends and family, walking and running, and reading.
